Reap the Benefits of the Law of Attraction by Raising Your Vibration

“It’s not ‘lucky girl syndrome’ that these things happen to me. I truly believe we attract what we put out in the universe,” I said to my friend.

As joujou as it seems, I’ve always been a firm believer in the law of attraction, the philosophy that the energy of our thoughts can manifest into our experiences. If we think negative thoughts, we’ll encounter negative experiences and vice versa.

Self-limiting beliefs, self-deprecating humor, and sarcasm are all forms of negative energy that not only frame the way we see the world but how the world sees us. When we self-sabotage, we indicate to the universe that we don’t value our self-worth, and in return, the universe won’t bring us the opportunities we deserve. When we put out low-energy thoughts, we’ll see low-energy outcomes.

Here are some of my go-to ways to raise my vibration when I feel like my glass is looking half-full:

  • Exercise for at least 15 minutes. As Elle Woods once said, “Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy.” Moving your body via aerobic exercise helps boost your body’s production of endorphins, dopamine, adrenaline and endocannabinoid--hormones associated with the feeling of being happy, confident, and capable. It’s no wonder why some of the world’s best leaders love starting their day with a killer workout. Here’s one of my go-to 15-minute bodyweight workouts that you can do at home.

  • Spend time outside. I always joke and say that I’m like a plant. I just need water, sunshine, and clean air in order to thrive. The truth is being out in nature can help calm the nervous system. Studies have shown that seeing nature, even through a window, can decrease levels of stress and anxiety. When you’re feeling overwhelmed, try taking a walk around your block or enjoying a cool glass of water on your stoop.

  • Get dressed up. There’s some weight in the saying, “Fake it until you make it.” Some days, I’ll wake up feeling absolutely disgusting, and struggle to get to a workout, to get groceries, or even sit at my laptop to handle emails. Then, as soon as I slip into a matching activewear set, put on a few swipes of mascara and my favorite IT Cosmetics concealer and CC crea, my entire mood shifts. Confidence comes from the inside, but having a little help on the outside doesn’t hurt.

Self-limiting beliefs, self-deprecating humor, and sarcasm are all forms of negative energy that not only frame the way we see the world but how the world sees us.

While these three tips work for me, they might not work for you. After all, we’re all different. If you’re struggling to see how awesome you are, there are lots of resources you can turn to such as books and podcasts. My favorites are listed here!
